The electrolyte within these batteries is housed in glass fiber mat separators that are positioned between the battery plates. This construction effectively prevents leaks during standard operation. Even in the event of an accidental drop that damages the casing, the electrolyte remains securely contained within the glass fiber mats. This battery design is safe for air transport and serves as a replacement for the earlier series of VETUS AGM batteries.

VETUS AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries are both sealed and require no maintenance. They are specifically engineered for marine use, making them perfect for starting engines, operating winches, and powering bow thrusters. These batteries provide high Marine Cranking Amps (MCA), exhibit low self-discharge rates, and are built to withstand damage. If they sustain any compromise, they do not leak liquid and continue to function effectively. They are particularly ideal for continuous cyclic applications, especially when immediate recharging is possible.
