Description

Spade Anchor S100 20KG –

The S Series Galvanized Spade anchor is a highly durable anchor made from special galvanized steel. Its unique concave surface ensures that it lands correctly every time. The center of mass is positioned low to prevent the anchor from tripping under load or stress. The anchor’s total weight is concentrated on its sharp tip, allowing for immediate penetration. When a load is applied to the rode, the anchor positions itself optimally for penetration, easily breaking through even the toughest sea beds. The Spade anchor remains securely buried without any shifting.

Designed by Alain Poiraud, this anchor features high holding power with concave flukes. It can be easily dismantled for convenient storage. Sizes S40 to S160 are readily available, while sizes S180 and S200 can be ordered with a lead time from the manufacturer. Spade claims to produce the world’s most reliable anchor.

Spade Anchor Facts, Features, and Unique Selling Points:

  • The Spade design includes a triangular ballast chamber filled with lead, ensuring that the anchor lands at the best angle for penetration, similar to how a chisel works on wood. This design places 50% of the total weight directly over the penetrating tip, maximizing its ability to dig into challenging sea beds, such as Mediterranean seagrass, thick weeds, and kelp.

  • The Spade is designed for easy dismantling, making it convenient to store until needed.

  • The anchor begins to dig in as soon as it touches the seabed, aided by its optimal angle and weight distribution.

  • The Spade holds firmly by presenting its full surface area against the load. A larger surface area increases holding power. If a load is strong enough to move the anchor, it will bury itself deeper. Unlike a convex blade that may pull out during sudden wind or tide shifts, the Spade’s concave blade remains buried. It acts like a parachute under the seabed, providing maximum resistance even under heavy loads. The Spade will not pull out during shifts; instead, it adjusts to the new direction.

  • Built to withstand significant loads, the Spade continues to hold long after other anchors have dragged.

  • For sizes S80 and above, the shanks are constructed in a triangular box section to enhance strength without compromising weight distribution.

  • Spade anchors are designed for optimal performance rather than cost, and they come with a six-month manufacturer satisfaction warranty.
