High precision and quality mechanical shaft seal made from a combination of 316 stainless steel and graphite, designed for easy installation and maintenance. The mechanical seal functions through a perfect junction between the stainless steel ring and the graphite component. The stainless steel ring is mounted with headless screws on the shaft, rotating with it, while the graphite part remains stationary on the shaft seal. Mechanical shaft seals can be directly mounted on sterntubes with a rubber sleeve secured with clamps. The standard attachment size for the rubber sleeve on the sterntube is 113 mm, but reductions allow the mechanical seal to be mounted on sterntubes with sizes of 80 mm or 3¼ inches and 4 inches. It can be paired with a wall mount bronze shaft seal adapter complete with water-lubricated bearing (see codes 49006354900680).
