Bowman recommends against the use of zinc anodes. The tubes of the heat exchanger are constructed from a copper-nickel alloy, which does not necessitate a zinc anode. The installation of a zinc anode could potentially harm the protective copper-oxide layer on the tubes, which may result in corrosion.
