We are pleased to present the Antal Self-Tailing XT48 Winch, a two-speed winch engineered for superior performance in both cruising and competitive racing environments. This winch is equipped with a first gear that facilitates swift recovery, even when faced with substantial loads. As the workload intensifies, the winch seamlessly transitions to a second speed by altering the direction of the crank’s rotation, thereby maximising power output.

Crafted from robust black anodised aluminium, the drum is not only scratch-resistant but also remarkably durable, enhanced by its Teflon coating. Alternatively, a chrome-plated version is available, where the drum, self-tailing (ST) disks, and ST arm undergo meticulous polishing and are thickly nickel-plated prior to receiving a final chrome finish.

Maintenance is uncomplicated; simply detach the upper ring to disassemble the winch for straightforward cleaning and servicing. The innovative self-tailing XT system incorporates a fixed upper disk with an integrated ST arm and a self-regulating lower disk mounted on springs. This system automatically adjusts to accommodate various rope diameters and, in cases of overload, releases the line to avert excessive strain on the ST arm.

The drum features vertical knurling that optimises horizontal friction, allowing the rope to ascend efficiently. The differentiated grip design (exclusive to aluminium drums) reduces friction in the lower section, where loads are heavier, while enhancing grip at the top, where loads are lighter. This design ensures a consistent grip across the entire drum.

The CNC-machined base is both lighter and stronger than conventional castings, constructed from hard black anodised aluminium with a Teflon coating. Its straightforward removal from the winch facilitates maintenance tasks.
